Bearded Dragon

The bearded dragon,Amphibolurus barbatus, occurs naturally in eastern and southeastern Australia. The bearded dragon presents with a pouch in the throat area of the lizard, which it inflates when it feels threatened. This lizard also opens its mouth when threatened, exposing a lemon-yellow interior.


Bearded Dragon The bearded dragon grows to a maximum length of 45cm. The basic colouration of the lizard is mottled grey, light brown-orange to light yellow with white spots. This lizard feeds on a variety of invertebrates, baby mice and sometimes some ripe fruit.
